Someone with a common interest
Ever since I was three years old, my passion has been to DANCE. I started out in simple ballet and tap classes at Starz Dance Studio. I continued dancing there and when I was six I started to take jazz and lyrical classes. Then in seventh grade, after 8 years of dancing for Starz, I switched to go dance at Metro Dance and it was there where I was introduced to competition and pointe dance. Dance took up all of my spare time and it was something that meant alot to me. Every week it was either morning or night practice and every weekend was competition and recitals. I had always wanted to dance pointe, but I couldn't start until 8th grade because my ankles werent strong enough. This was a huge stuggle for me and it took forever for my feet to get used to pointe. I remember coming home and having to soak my feet in the tub because they were constantly bleeding. I never really knew why I went through that much pain just to dance, but i loved it! I also started teaching dance to little girls and its very rewarding...Makes me think back to when I was just starting to dance. Anyway. I found someone who has a blog talking about the pain and physical demands of pointe and I give these girls lots of credit! Some say dance isnt a sport, but you never know until you do it yourself!!! :) Click HERE to check out her page.
